I've always loved performing, singing and bringing characters to life, but for many years that passion sat quietly in the background while I focused on other things.

Everything changed when my niece was five years old and had a princess attend her birthday party. Watching the excitement, wonder and pure joy that experience brought inspired an idea that I simply couldn't shake. I remember leaving that party thinking, "I'd love to do this."

In 2020, during the uncertainty of the pandemic, I decided to give that dream a chance.

What started as a small idea quickly became months of hard work. I spent my time taking singing lessons, watching makeup tutorials, learning how to build a website, studying social media marketing and teaching myself everything I could about running a business. While much of the world had paused, I threw myself into creating something magical.

My first year looked very different from today's business. One of my fondest memories was spending December 2020 hosting back-to-back Christmas Elf Zoom parties from my bedroom. Armed with a ring light, a stool, countless props and lots of festive enthusiasm, I entertained children virtually as "Tina the Christmas Elf". I barely left the house, but I absolutely loved it.

As restrictions eased, Forget Me Not Children's Parties gradually transitioned into in-person visits, birthday parties and events. By 2022, things had grown enough that I recruited my first two assistants and performer. I still remember the excitement of sending out my very first princess duo. Watching them create magical memories, sing beautifully and bring smiles to children's faces filled me with such pride that I cried happy tears.

A real turning point for us came when we were invited to perform at Carberry Tower's Princess Afternoon Tea. It felt like a huge milestone and gave us the confidence to keep growing.

Since then, the business has expanded far beyond what I ever imagined. At one stage we had a roster of more than 20 performers and assistants. Many have moved on to new adventures, but we still keep in touch with so many of them. Looking back, I can't quite believe that people wanted to join this little business I started on a whim during lockdown. The support and belief from our team over the years has meant the world to me.

Together we've been privileged to perform at hundreds of events across Scotland, including birthday parties, community celebrations, galas, charity events, restaurant experiences, café appearances, hotel events and corporate Christmas parties.

Every booking, every child we meet and every family who chooses us has played a part in our journey, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

We have also been honoured to receive recognition for our work, including being named Mobile Children's Entertainment of the Year at the Scottish Hospitality Awards for two consecutive years, as well as receiving the Entertainment Excellence Award from the Prestige Awards.

Today, Forget Me Not Children's Parties is built on the same values it started with: professionalism, passion, creativity and genuine care. We believe every child deserves a magical experience they'll remember for years to come, and nothing makes us happier than being part of those special moments.

When I think back to the version of me sitting at home in 2020, nervously launching a website and wondering if anyone would book me, I could never have imagined where this journey would lead.
